Dr. Paul K. Holden

Meet Dr. Paul K. Holden

Paul K. Holden, M.D. is one of a select few board-certified head and neck surgeons and specialty-trained facial cosmetic (plastic) surgeons in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is one of only a few nasal surgeons in Scottsdale with expertise on both the cosmetic appearance and function of the nose.  Dr. Holden is part of a prestigious line of surgeons that date back to the original pioneers in the art of cosmetic nasal surgery. This means that his experience is combined with that of his predecessors into a breadth of knowledge spanning nearly 100 years of operating experience. Dr. Holden believes in a customized approach to each patient that takes into account the patient's desires, function, tissue limitations and many other factors.

As a trusted leader in his field, Dr. Holden has educated many other doctors on his techniques of facial plastic surgery. He has authored several plastic surgery book chapters. Additionally, Dr. Holden has published research in many areas of the face and neck, including cartilage reshaping, the use of lasers in surgery of the face and neck, and advanced techniques for surgery of the face and neck, as well as for injecting  dermal fillers with precision for maximum effect and natural results.

Surgical Specialties & Skills

Dr. Holden’s specialties focus primarily on aesthetic and revision cosmetic surgery for the face, nose, neck, ears, and chin with an emphasis on refining procedures for men and women. He continues to develop cutting-edge surgical techniques to produce lasting results that look and feel natural.

Dr. Holden is well-known for a facial procedure he developed called the ponytail upper facelift. This surgery essentially lifts the upper brow area, removes wrinkled and loose skin, and makes the area smooth throughout the brow and under the eye. He uses several small incisions on the hairline to do the delicate procedure endoscopically, leaving no visible incisions or scars while repositioning the skin and cheeks to a more youthful position.

Dr. Holden has completed thousands of revision surgeries to the face and nose. The unique combination of his research and specialized understanding of the structures and function of the nose enable him to restructure and rebuild each nose to a more refined, symmetric shape based on each patient's individual desires. Dr. Holden utilizes the many advanced techniques in rhinoplasty learned over his years to perform beautiful, natural rhinoplasty and improve previous rhinoplasty surgeries. His dedication to accomplishing his patient’s goals and his years of experience permit him to improve the most complex rhinoplasty or facelift surgeries with confidence and finesse.

"Incredible Doctor - Scottsdale, AZ - Dr. Holden is the one of most caring, sweetest, and supportive doctors I have ever met. He is so attentive and always has an encouraging and positive attitude. He personally answered my emails when I first inquired about surgery. After surgery, gave me his cell # so I could contact him directly with my worries, questions or emergencies. Great follow up care. He always comforts me with his confidence, knowledge and reassuring words when I have any worries and is easily reached when you need him. He is an incredibly intelligent and talented surgeon, but also has the excellent and important artistic eye that some lack. I highly recommend him and only him for any facial work. He takes his time explaining things, addressing your concerns, and answers all your questions. When you meet him, you can tell that he puts his heart into his work and truly cares about each individual patient, not treating them like just another paying customer."

"simply the best! - Scottsdale, AZ - Best choice for a rhinoplasty. Getting my nose done by Dr. Holden was the best decision I've ever made for myself! He took two hours during my initial consult, and I later came back for a second consult where he answered more of my questions and was very patient. I had worries that I'd end up with a ski-jump or pug nose. He took the time to explain why some rhinoplasties turn out that way, and the techniques he would use to avoid such results. I hated that my nose would pull down when I'd smile, and he explained to me the mechanics of why that happens and what measures could be taken to correct it. He thoroughly prepared me for every step of the procedure and my results are natural, and look just like the digital imaging. Extremely helpful throughout. On the third day my facial swelling was significant, popping my cast off a little bit. I texted him asking about it, and he suggested I come into the office, and he saw me immediately, re-applying the cast and sending me on my way. I can't emphasize enough what an amazing job he did! Please do yourself a favor and go to the best, you wont regret it one bit!"

"Worth the Wait-Takes Longer to Go into Effect than Dysport - Scottsdale, AZ - Was going to a nurse practioner which was alright but then I met Dr. Holden. His specialized and very extensive knowledge of the facial muscles proved to give me much more precise and accurate injections. Never have any unwanted muscle movements after he injects me (which I have had happen to me in the past). Besides that, he is just a great and caring doctor. With him, your face is in excellent hands!"

"Talented and Personable - Scottsdale, AZ - Dr. Holden is personable and talented. His understanding of facial anatomy is unsurpassed."

"Beautiful, Youthful Eyellids: Best Plastic Surgeon! - Scottsdale, AZ - Dr. Holden's Expertise:Best Present to Myself!"
